Jerry Hansen

Hi, my name is Jerry Hansen and this will be my 19th year teaching in the NPS classroom (to meet the needs of students in Special Education). My qualifications include my Bachelor's degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Education specializing in Counseling. I also have my Level II Teaching Credential for Mild/Moderate disabilities and a credential for Moderate/Severe disabilities.

Besides the traditional teaching tools such as books and handouts, I try to incorporate technology and field trips. In all my years of teaching special education, I still feel so proud when I see students experience growth and surpass goals.

On the weekends, I enjoy hopping in the van and having a good time with family and friends. When I'm not busy telling the occasional dad joke or coin collecting, I genuinely have a passion for helping others. Surrounding myself with a diverse community has allowed me to do just that. It has also allowed me to share my love for music. Whether it’s just playing the keyboard for my wife or playing organ and piano for 1,800 programs, I am always delighted to share my musical gift. In addition to my pastimes, I have written and choreographed plays for many age groups.
